19-Year-Old Camden Man Arrested & Charged In Connection With Shooting That Left One Dead, Another Injured

On October 27, 2023, at approximately 7:58 p.m., Camden County Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Hull Road, in Camden for a report of a person shot.

A Camden City man has been arrested and charged for the fatal shooting of a man and the shooting of a woman on October 27, 2023, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

Avonte Muse, 19, of Camden City was charged in the fatal shooting of
Akeem Jenkins of Camden City and the shooting of a 32-year-old female from Camden. Muse was charged with first-degree murder and second-degree aggravated assault.


Camden County Police arrested Muse on an unrelated charge on November 4, 2023, and he is currently in custody at the Camden County Jail.

On October 27, 2023, at approximately 7:58 p.m., Camden County
Police were dispatched to the 2800 block of Hull Road, in Camden
for a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers located two victims, 33-year-old Akeem Jenkins and a female victim suffering from gunshot
wounds.

Both victims were transported to Cooper University Hospital,
where Jenkins succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at
8:41 p.m. The female victim was released from the hospital.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty
in a court of law.
