18-Year-Old Lawnside Man Arrested & Charged In Connection With Somerdale Shooting

An 18-year-old Lawnside man has been arrested and charged in connection to the shooting of a man in Somerdale last week, reported
Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Somerdale Police Chief James J. Walsh.

On April 6, 2023, at approximately 6:32 p.m., officers from the Lawnside Police Department, Somerdale Police Department, Magnolia Police Department, and the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to the 400 block of the White Horse Pike for a report of a shooting that occurred.


A 32-year-old male gunshot victim involved in the shooting incident arrived by vehicle at Cooper University Hospital on Thursday evening. The victim, from Lawnside, has been released from the hospital.

Following an investigation by the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Somerdale Police Department, Nicholas Stiegler, 18, of Lawnside was charged with the following offenses in connection to the shooting of the man in Somerdale on April 6, 2023:

  • 2nd-degree Aggravated Assault
  • 2nd-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon
  • 2nd-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose
  • 4th-degree Aggravated Assault Pointing a Firearm

On April 10, 2023, Stiegler, was taken into custody in Pine Hill by the U.S. Marshals Service NewYork/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Stiegler was processed by the Somerdale Police Department and subsequently transported to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending his detention hearing.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.
