Boro of Mt. Ephraim Has Made Conditional Offer to Purchase Emmaus Catholic Community/ Sacred Heart Property for $775K

A Bond Ordinance appropriating the sum of $800,000 authorizes the acquisition of the property as part of the central redevelopment plan.

On November 11, 2020, the Borough of Mt. Ephraim, through its solicitor, submitted a conditional bid to purchase the former Emmaus/Sacred Heart church property for the offer price of $775,000.

On November 12, 2020, the Borough was informed that the owner of the former church property had conditionally accepted the offer made by the Borough.


Resolution #77-20 authorized the purchase of the former church property.

The acquisition of the former church property is contingent upon the final availability of funds and the adoption of the necessary bond ordinances to finance the purchase price of $775,000 and other expenses associated with the acquisition of the former church property.

A bond ordinance appropriating the sum of $800,000 authorizes the acquisition as part of the central business redevelopment plan along with the acquisition of all materials and equipment, and the completion of all necessary work.


On December 3, 2020 at 7:00 pm, there will be a public hearing on Ordinance # 2020-18 and Ordinance #2020-19 at the Mt. Ephraim Municipal Building and for those who do not want to attend in person, the hearing will also be held via Zoom.
