On May 5, 2021, the Camden County Department of Health announced 83 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County.

This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 48,165 in Camden County today and 1,175 total fatalities.

“Even as we see our cases finally begin to decline, we must continue to be mindful of what is happening in India and elsewhere in the world. This virus remains a very serious threat,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “The only way to truly protect ourselves is for the vast majority of people to get vaccinated. If you have not gotten your shot yet, do not delay any longer. We are accepting walk-in patients at the county vaccination site in Blackwood and hosting pop-ups throughout the week.”

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,347 confirmed resident cases and 1,376 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 48,082 in the county’s 56 long-term care facilities.

New Jersey’s current Rt value (as of Wednesday morning) is 1.41. That means every 10 people with COVID-19 are infecting over 14 other people. It’s not good. Wear your masks and wash your hands frequently. It’s not that big a sacrifice.
