In December, The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore at Jewish
Family Service (JFS) will offer 10 interactive and entertaining virtual programs and activities.

Plan to participate with friends, family, and neighbors while continuing to socialize safely at home.

The Great Latke Cook-Off
Wednesday, December 1 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am
Join us for an adventure in latke-making. We’ll show you how to cook traditional potato latkes and share recipes including cinnamon, sweet potato, apple, smoked salmon with lemon, caper and sour cream, curry vegetable, and more. We’ll also feature “Not Your Bubbie’s” latke toppings.

Send your favorite recipes to RSVP by November 24.

Grief, Loss & Holidays
Tuesday, December 7 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am
Everyone processes grief in their own time and way. The holiday season can be difficult for those who have suffered loss, whether in the past or in the time of COVID-19.

Join Grief Counselor Eileen Perice, Vice President of Goldsteins’ Rosenberg’s Raphael-Sacks and Roth-Goldsteins’ as she gives insights into finding the right path to navigate through the holidays and beyond. RSVP by December 2.

Nurse’s Roundtable: Holidays through a Lifetime
Wednesday, December 8 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am
Join Nurse Educator Lori Pasahow for a discussion on holiday memories and the lessons learned along the way. Recall experiences from different stages of life.

Develop an understanding of how those experiences have affected your general wellness and why.

Discover how to incorporate this knowledge into your celebration and appreciation of this special time of year.

The Positivity Project
Thursday, December 9 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am
Explore positivity during challenging times with JFS Wellness Coordinator Mary Jean Arreola and Village Community Specialist Tina Serota.

You’ll discover ways to boost your wellness – mind, body, and soul. Each month features a new topic including self-care, mindfulness, gratitude, meditation, resiliency and more. RSVP by December 6.

The Village Movie Society
Tuesday, December 14 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am
Join Theater teacher and coach Louise Marshall Hacker and Tina Serota for a discussion about the film, Passing, based on the novel by Nella Larson.

The film follows the unexpected reunion of two high school friends, whose renewed acquaintance begins an obsession that threatens both of their realities.

Watch ahead of time from the comfort of your home. Available on Netflix. RSVP by December 8.

Wednesday, December 15 from 1 pm to 2 pm
Join friends and neighbors for an afternoon of BINGO games and prizes with Louise Marshall Hacker.

BINGO cards will be delivered to those who register in advance.

This event is free for Holocaust Survivors and Village Members. For non-members, the cost is $5 payable prior to December 10 to Tina Serota.

Super Couponing
Thursday, December 16 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am
Join Susan Kotzen as she shares tips for navigating post-holiday sales from clothing and electronics to seasonal merchandise.

Memoir Workshop
Friday, December 17 from 10:30 am to 12 pm
Experience the thrill of capturing your life’s adventures, history, and ancestry at the Memoir Workshop led by award-winning author and Drexel University Professor of Creative Writing, Harriet Levin Millan.

You need a laptop or pen/paper for the full workshop experience. RSVP by December 13.

Trivia Game Day
Tuesday, December 21 from 4 pm to 5 pm
With questions covering an array of topics including science, geography, history, music, theater, movies and more, you can test your knowledge with this fun program.

This event is free for Holocaust Survivors and Village Members.

For non-members, the cost is $5 payable prior to December 15 to Tina Serota.

Coffee Klatch
Thursday, December 23 from 10:30am to 11:30am
Your world in 60 minutes. Insightful, animated and fast-paced conversation with friends spanning “both sides of the aisle and the middle.”

Share your thoughts on politics, technology, world events,
the arts, and more.

This program is moderated by Tina Serota. RSVP by December 11.

The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore

The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore is a membership program for adults over the age of 50.

The program provides Intergenerational Events, Transportation, Grocery Shopping and Delivery, Kosher Meals on Wheels, and more.
