CSL Plasma continues to grow as there is a critical and ongoing need for human plasma to produce life-saving medicines for people with rare diseases.
CSL Plasma is one of the world’s largest collectors of human plasma and invites people to learn about donating at the Brooklawn center, as well as more than 300 CSL Plasma collection centers across the U.S.
Plasma collected at CSL Plasma collection centers is used to help manufacture life-saving therapies that are delivered to people suffering from rare and serious diseases in more than 100 countries.
Plasma donations are essential to help improve the lives of people suffering from rare and serious diseases.
Human plasma is used to produce therapies that treat diseases such as primary immune deficiencies, hereditary angioedema, inherited respiratory disease, hemophilia, and other bleeding and neurological disorders.
By way of background, patients who use plasma-derived therapies need them to replace missing or deficient proteins that allow them to lead healthy and more productive lives.
These patients generally require regular infusions or injections throughout their lives as their conditions are often chronic.
To donate at a CSL Plasma collection center, donors must be in good health, between the ages of 18-74, weigh at least 110 pounds, have no tattoos or piercings within the last 4 months, meet our eligibility and screening requirements, and have valid identification and a permanent address.
For a complete list of donation requirements, donors should contact a local CSL Plasma Center and ask to speak to a member of our medical staff.
