The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore at Jewish Family Service offers some cool programs during the hot summer season. Here’s your chance to participate in 11 fun, unique and entertaining programs in August.

33rd Annual JFS House Tour
Monday, August 1 from 11am to 4pm
The highly-anticipated fundraiser, presented by Surroundings Interiors, will provide guests with the rare opportunity to tour several luxurious Downbeach homes which feature state-of-the-art gourmet kitchens, custom woodworking, unique décor and lighting, beautiful landscaping, and more. Tickets are $75 per person and includes lunch, sponsored by Oasis Property Group. Raffle tickets are $20 each or six for $100. Attendance is not necessary to win a raffle prize. Nurse’s Roundtable: Corporate Healthcare’s Impact on Seniors
Wednesday, August 3 from 10:30am to 11:30am
Join Nurse Lori Pasahow and Village Community Specialist Tina Serota for an in-depth discussion about the corporate takeover of hospitals, doctors’ practices, pharmacies and more. Learn how the world of telemedicine, computerization and big business has impacted your healthcare experience. We’ll share ideas on how to build and maintain a professional “personal” relationship with physicians and healthcare personnel in a high-tech, impersonal medical world. RSVP by August 1.

Positivity Project: Morning Refresh
Thursday, August 4 from 10:30am to 11:30am
Start your day in an upbeat way! Explore positivity during challenging times with JFS Wellness Coordinator Mary Jean Arreola and Tina Serota. You’ll learn ways to boost wellness – mind, body and soul. Topics include self-care, mindfulness, gratitude, meditation, and resiliency. RSVP by August 1.

The Village Movie Society
Tuesday, August 9 from 10:30am to 11:30am
Join Tina Serota for a discussion about the documentary, Won’t You Be My Neighbor, which explores the life, lessons and legacy of iconic children’s Television Host, Fred Rodgers. This movie can be viewed on Netflix. RSVP by August 4.

Wednesday, August 10 from 1pm to 2pm
Join friends and neighbors for an afternoon of BINGO games and prizes with Tina Serota. BINGO cards will be delivered to those who register in advance. This event is free for Holocaust Survivors and Village Members. For non-members, the cost is $5. RSVP by August 7.

Memoir Workshop
Friday, August 12 from 10:30am to 12pm
Experience the thrill of capturing your life’s adventures, history and ancestry at a Memoir Workshop led by award-winning author and Drexel University Professor of Creative Writing and Publishing, Harriet Levin Millan. You will need a laptop or pen/paper for the workshop. RSVP by August 9.

Comfort Cooking: Light & Delicious
Tuesday, August 16 from 10:30am to 11:30am
Join Bernadette Getzler as she takes you on a food journey using farm fresh ingredients. We’ll learn to cook our favorite late summer recipes in new and inventive ways by taking existing ingredients and substituting healthier options. Learn to view comfort food in a whole new way! Positivity Project: Evening Retreat
Wednesday, August 17 from 7pm to 7:30pm
Join JFS Wellness Coordinator Mary Jean Arreola and Tina Serota for an evening retreat. Shed the cares of the day and prepare for a restful night. We’ll cover a wide range of topics including self-care, mindfulness, gratitude, meditation, and resiliency. RSVP by August 11.

Coffee Klatch: Hybrid
Thursday, August 18 from 10:30am to 12pm
Your world in 90 minutes! Join a fast-paced discussion on politics, technology, world events, the arts, religion, and more. Moderated by Tina Serota. Attend in-person at the Katz JCC Boardroom, 501 North Jerome Avenue in Margate or from home via Zoom. Mask encouraged for in-person. For Zoom, a link will be emailed to you. RSVP by August 11.

8th Annual Card Party
Thursday, August 25 beginning at 10:30am
Players can look forward to exciting games of Mahjong, Bridge, and Canasta as well as lunch, auction items, and door prizes at this event hosted at Harbor Pines Golf Club in Egg Harbor Township. Tickets are $75 per player and Village members receive a 20% discount. Participants should organize their own table with friends and family. Others will be randomly assigned to a table. Players must bring their own cards or game set.

Evening Yoga with Candice
Monday, August 29 from 7pm to 8pm
Join Candice Martin for a Yoga class via Zoom. Find balance and tranquility while experiencing mental, physiological, and spiritual rejuvenation. Burn off excess energy through gentle body movements, wind down to a deeper state of relaxation and prepare for your evening rest. RSVP by August 23.

The Lynn Kramer Village by the Shore is a membership program for adults over the age of 50.

The program provides Intergenerational Events, Transportation, Grocery Shopping and Delivery, Kosher Meals on Wheels and more.
