6 Law Enforcement Agencies Arrest 11 During Undercover Prostitution Operation

In a joint effort to thwart prostitution, undercover officers from six agencies utilized internet postings to make 11 arrests that included a motel employee who was charged with obstruction, according to an announcement made by the Bellmawr Police Department.

On December 8, officers from Bellmawr, Brooklawn, Gloucester City, Mt. Ephraim, Runnemede, along with the Camden County Prosecutor’s office, participated in the proactive effort.

Using internet postings, an undercover officer made arrangements to meet a female at a predetermined location, which was usually listed in the ad. After it was agreed that a sexual act would be performed in exchange for money, the female would be taken into custody.

Seven females charged were charged with prostitution. OneĀ female was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and one motel employee was charged with obstruction.

During the undercover operation, while one of the officers was in the motel room, the motel employee contacted a known prostitute who had been staying there. The motel employee allegedly advised the prostitute not to continue with the deal because she thought she observed undercover officers in the parking lot.
