ACPO Major Crimes Unit Seeks Assisting in Identifying Witness to Recent Homicide

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit is seeking assistance in identifying a witness to the homicide of a man in Pleasantville on the morning of Nov. 13, 2021, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill announced.

The individual in this video and still image is being sought as a witness to the homicide of Ivan Smith, which occurred on November 13, 2021, in Pleasantville.

On November 13, 2021, at approximately 9:19 a.m., the Pleasantville Police Department received a shot spotter alert and 911 call in reference to a shooting incident at 914 N. Main Street.

When Pleasantville Police Officers arrived, they located Ivan Smith, 41, of Somers Point, laying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound. Medical personnel also responded to the scene and performed CPR, but they were unable to revive Smith.

Smith was pronounced deceased at the scene.

This is an active and cooperative investigation between the ACPO Major Crimes Unit and the Pleasantville Police Department.
