After More Than 60 Years in Business, Bellmawr’s Lawnmower Parts Closes Its Doors

A sign posted on the window announced that the business was permanently closing right before Christmas, 2020.

Lawnmower Parts — a former mainstay business in Bellmawr that was located just before (or after) “Dead-Man’s Curve” on Creek Road in Bellmawr quietly closed its doors for good in December.

I noticed that the Lawnmower Parts sign was taken down from the building awhile ago right around the same time that a pillar for the Missing Moves project was being erected.

While out walking recently, I stopped to take a closer look and saw a sign taped to a window announcing the business was permanently closing as of December 23, 2020.

The sign reads:

Since 1958 Lawnmower Parts, Inc. has been part of the Bellmawr and South Jersey community. We have enjoyed the privilege of serving generations of customers, and we truly appreciate your patronage over the years.

On December 23, 2020, Lawnmower Parts, Inc. will be closing permanently. We would like to thank your family, past, and present, for being part of ours.

In a November 25, 2020 Facebook post, Lawnmower Parts announced a Fall Cleanout sale, but there was no mention of the business permanently closing.

As of right now, we don’t know what will happen with the building, but will update if/when information becomes available.

The $180 million federally-funded “Missing Moves” project will build new ramps connecting Route 42 northbound to I-295 southbound, and I-295 northbound to Route 42 southbound in order to allow for the direct movement of traffic between the two roadways.

These are commonly known as the “missing moves.”

The project will also include the demolition and reconstruction of the Creek Road Bridge over I-295 between Route 42 and Almonesson Road.

The project is expected to be completed in late 2023.
