Alycia Roman, of Camden, Receives 3-Year Prison Term With No Eligibility for Parole Following Guilty Plea for Aggravated Assault in Shoplifting,Spitting Incident At Brooklawn Shop Rite

Alycia Roman, of Camden, was sentenced on September 4, 2020 to a three year prison term for Aggravated Assault to run concurrent with a sentence of 18 months for throwing bodily fluids on a law enforcement officer, Camden County Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson, Colby Gallagher confirmed on October 15, 2020. Roman will be imprisoned with no eligibility for parole.

On August 7, 2020, Roman, pled guilty to one count of fourth-degree Aggravated Assault.

In April, 2020, Roman was initially charged with multiple offenses, including second-degree Robbery, third-degree Aggravated Assault, and one count of Unlawful Act During the Threat or Imminence of Danger.

Police responded to the Brooklawn ShopRite on April 12 for a report of a woman shoplifting items after an employee bagged them. During the investigation, employees told police Roman spat on one employee who followed her to her vehicle to get the bag back.

Witnesses said Roman then reversed her car into another employee and attempted to run him over, but he was able to jump out of the way.

On April 14, 2020, Roman was located, arrested, and received an additional charge of one count of fourth-degree Throwing Bodily Fluid at a Law Enforcement Officer.
