At the request of the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, officers from the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Fugitive Investigations Unit (FIU) arrested Brian D. McFarland, 43, who had been living in Swedesboro and was wanted as a fugitive by the State of Arizona.
McFarland was arrested on October 17.
Upon receiving the Attorney General’s request for assistance, FIU detectives developed information that McFarland was living at a Swedesboro address, where he was taken into custody without incident. Complaints were prepared charging McFarland with being a fugitive from justice in Arizona and he was turned over to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department.
On October 18, McFarland waived an extradition hearing and agreed to return to Arizona.
According to the Arizona Department of Insurance, McFarland is facing multiple counts of fraud and theft in Arizona, alleging more than $450,000 taken from nearly than 90 insurance customers.
