Congratulations to Bellmawr’s Bell Oaks Lady Owls who won their sixth softball championship on May 25, 2022.
The team defeated a previously undefeated Barrington team 7-4 in extra innings to win their sixth title in the last 10 years.

The Lady Owls were down 4-2 in the top of the 6th until Makayla Hawthorne’s two-run home run cleared the left-center field fence and tied the game.
The score remained tied until the top of the ninth.
That inning saw key at-bats and hits from Nora Joyce, Taylor Valderamma, and Gianna Endt.

Head Coach Mike Mazzuca and Assistant Coaches Jamie Casey and Sue Fischer were so proud of the girls who proved: “No moment is too big.”
The girls supported each other throughout the season, which helped them stay calm during both playoff games in which the girls had to come from behind.
