In a Memorandum dated May 17, 2018, the engineers for the Borough of Bellmawr issued a Statement Setting Forth the Basis for a Preliminary Investigation for Determination of Eligibility for Declaration as a Non-Condemnation Area in Need of Redevelopment – 191 Anderson Avenue (Rear).
The Memorandum reads: “This preliminary investigation report emanates from the directive of the Borough Council of the Borough of Bellmawr to the Bellmawr Planning Board to undertake a preliminary investigation to determine whether a parcel …. would qualify the study area for a declaration of non-condemnation area in need of redevelopment, pursuant to the Local Redevelopment and Housing Law….”
Additionally, “This investigation is being conducted as it appears that the site may meet … criteria considering that the entirety of the Study Area qualifies for declaration as a noncondemnation area in need of redevelopment given lands are owned by the municipality that are remote, lack of means of access, and due to the nature of the soil, is not likely to be developed through the instrumentality of private capital; as well as has faulty arrangement of the land.”
A Public Hearing is scheduled for Monday, June 4, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.
