At the October 19 Bellmawr Board of Education (BOE) meeting, the Board passed a Resolution approving a negotiated agreement with the Bellmawr Education Association (BEA) for the time period 2016-2019 and effective July 1, 2016.
Before the Board approved the new agreement, contract negotiations were at an impasse.
At the meeting, the BOE also approved two additional Resolutions:
1. A three percent increase for non-BEA Staff for the 2016-17 school year effective July 1, 2016.
2. An increase of the starting salary to $10 an hour for the CARE program effective November 1, 2016.
Board member, Patrick Murray, was absent from the meeting.
An Open Public Records Act (OPRA) Request has been filed to obtain the terms of the 2016-19 teachers’ contract. For comparison purposes, the contract that had been in effect for the previous time period was also requested.
When the information regarding the teachers’ contract has been received, it will be the subject of a future article.
All other business on the Board’s meeting agenda was approved.
