Bellmawr Water Dept’s Tim Shields & Jay Capone Honored With Proclamations

Bellmawr Water Department employees, Tim Shields and Jay Capone, were each honored with Proclamations from Mayor and Council at the December 12, 2017 monthly meeting.

Shields and Capone were recognized for their quick thinking and efforts on October 19, 2017 when a contractor’s employee sustained a serious injury that had occurred at the Warren Avenue water tank replacement project.

The worker was struck in the head by a cable that had snapped.

Due to the quick response by Shields and Capone, there was a positive outcome for the employee, who was back on the job the following day.

Councilman Jim D’Angelo presented the Proclamations to Shields and Capone and praised them for doing an “outstanding job” and for “going above and beyond the call of duty.”

The December 12th meeting also marked Councilman Paul Sandrock’s final meeting as a councilman.

Sandrock thanked the residents along with Mayor Frank Filipek and his fellow councilmen for their support during the three years that he served.
