Bellmawr’s Bell Oaks & Runnemede’s Mary Volz Among Those Named as a Camden County Middle School of Character

The award is sponsored by the Camden County Commissioners, Camden County College, and Camden County Technical Schools. The standing will be in effect from 2022-2024.

The Camden County Technical School (CCTS) District is pleased to announce that 11 middle schools in Camden County have met the criteria and were each named a Camden County Middle School of Character.

This standing shall remain in effect from 2022 through 2024.

This award is jointly sponsored by the Camden County Commissioners, Camden County College, and Camden County Technical Schools.

“Character education reinforces core values needed for success in the workforce, college, and in life,” said Patricia Fitzgerald, Superintendent of CCTS. “The two campuses of CCTS received recognition as National Schools of Character as well as New Jersey Schools of Character and it is our pleasure to co-sponsor and coordinate the Camden County Middle School of Character award.”

“The schools selected go above and beyond when it comes to instilling character education into our young people,” said Commissioner Carmen Rodriguez, liaison to Camden County Technical Schools. “This framework for learning will not only give our students here in Camden County the opportunity to be set up for success in all aspects of their lives, but it will also produce a new generation of kind, respectful and trustworthy individuals who are ready to take on the world.”

“All 80 private, charter, and public middle schools in Camden County were invited to submit applications that describe their character education programs for consideration, and we are delighted to award 11 of them with this honor,” said Suzanne Golt, chairperson of this award. “The review panel was impressed with the creative and interactive programs the schools have implemented to help our youth recognize the importance of good character and reinforce values such as Respect, Trustworthiness, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.”
