Bellmawr’s Teachers Receive 3% Increase Per Contract

Bellmawr’s teachers will receive a 3% yearly increase in their base salaries and the non-teaching staff will receive a 3.75% yearly increase in their base salaries, according to the terms of the three year agreement that was approved by the Bellmawr Board of Education (BOE) at their October 19 meeting.

The contract is in effect from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2019.


SJO filed an Open Public Records Act (OPRA) Request to obtain the terms of the 2016-19 contract between the BOE and the Bellmawr Education Association (BEA) and also for the contract that was in effect for the previous time period.

With regard to non-teaching staff, Business Administrator/Board Secretary, Amy Capriotti, provided the following explanation via email: “Non-BEA staff are those employees that are not in the union. They are the confidential administrative assistants in the Board office, the Technology Coordinator, and the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds. In the BEA, the non-teaching staff are the custodians, administrative assistants and paraprofessionals.”

Administrator’s Contract

With regard to the district’s administrators, they will receive a 2.9% yearly increase in their salaries as per their contract, which is effective July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2019. That contract was approved at the September 28 BOE meeting.
