The Borough of Bellmawr has an opening for a full-time Fire Lieutenant/Fire Inspector.
Salary is $43,680.00 ($46,680.00 with Fire Inspector Certification).
The Fire Lieutenant will operate under the direction of the Fire Chief and Fire Captain to assist in the management and operations of the Borough Fire Department by supervising emergency services personnel engaged in providing fire protection for persons and property, emergency medical services, and other related duties.
The Fire Lieutenant will assist the Fire Official with fire prevention inspections of buildings to detect and eliminate fire hazards, and enforce the provisions of relevant fire safety codes and related regulations in accordance with the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code.
The Fire Lieutenant will respond to major emergencies and under the direction of the fire department incident commander will engage in fire suppression, rescue operations, or other duties and/or serve as the incident commander in the absence of the Fire Chief.
Requirements:
- Possession of Fire Fighter 1 certification issued by the Division of Fire Safety, Department of Community Affairs.
- Possession of Incident Management System – Level I certification issued by the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety, Department of Community Affairs.
- Possession of Fire Instructor I certification issued by the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety, Department of Community Affairs.
- Possession of Incident Safety Officer certification issued by the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety, Department of Community Affairs.
- Possession of Fire Inspector certification issued by Division of Fire Safety, Department of Community Affairs or ability to obtain within 1st year of employment.
- Possession of High School Diploma or GED equivalent Minimum 4 years of firefighter experience and 2 years of fire officer experience.
- Appointees will be required to possess and maintain a New Jersey State driver’s license.
- Appointees must be eligible for enrollment in Police & Fire Retirement System (PFRS)
- Appointees must successfully pass a drug test for illegal substances, background investigation, and medical qualifications screening.
