Sentencing is scheduled for March 4, 2022, before the Honorable Yolanda C. Rodriguez, J.S.C.

On February 1, 2022, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay announced a plea agreement relating to a 2020 homicide.

Brandy M. Lee, 35, of Runnemede, pled guilty on January 31, 2022 to first-degree Aggravated Manslaughter for the shooting death of 26-year-old Kevin D. Owens III inside a hotel room on the 100 block of East 9th Avenue, Runnemede.

The shooting occurred on June 22, 2020, around 3:30 a.m.

Detectives said Lee shot 26-year-old following an argument inside a hotel room.

Through the investigation, surveillance footage showed Lee was the only person to enter and exit the hotel room during the time of the shooting.

Assistant Prosecutor Sonja Furlow handled the case for the State. Lee is expected to be sentenced to 25 years in New Jersey State Prison and must serve 85% of her sentence before she will be eligible for parole.

The sentencing is scheduled for March 4, 2022, before the Honorable Yolanda C. Rodriguez, J.S.C.

Lee is being held at the Camden County Correctional Facility pending sentencing.
