Burlington Vicinage to Celebrate National Adoption Day Nov. 17

Superior Court Judges Lisa James-Beavers and Mary Ann C. O’Brien will finalize adoption proceedings for four children.

The Burlington Vicinage will celebrate its 16th annual Adoption Day on Friday, Nov. 17 at 8:45 a.m. at the Burlington County Courts Facility, 49 Rancocas Road, Mount Holly.

Superior Court Judges Lisa James-Beavers and Mary Ann C. O’Brien will finalize adoption proceedings for four children. The celebration will open with remarks from Assignment Judge Jeanne T. Covert, Family Division Presiding Judge Edward W. Hoffman, Judge James-Beavers, and Burlington County Surrogate Brian Carlin.

“We are so pleased to be back celebrating this very special event,” said Judge Covert. “It is a time to focus on one of our favorite court case types as judges – the confirmation of forever families for so many children in the county. Our only wish is that this is the beginning of a bright and promising future for each and every one of these children and their new families.”

Each child will receive a toy bear and gift bag during the proceeding. The Philadelphia Eagles cheerleaders will cheer for the families as they finalize their adoptions.

The vicinage’s Adoption Day celebration is co-sponsored by the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency, the Department of Children and Families, the Burlington County Surrogate’s Office, Court Appointed Special Advocates of Burlington County, the Burlington County Bar Foundation, and the New Jersey Adoption Resource Clearing House

National Adoption Day is an annual event that celebrates the families who choose to adopt, while raising public awareness of the need for adoptive homes.
