Camden Vicinage to Hold Law Day Celebration

The national theme for Law Day is “The Cornerstones of Democracy: Civics, Civility, and Collaboration.”

The Camden Vicinage will celebrate Law Day with a virtual event on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 9:30 a.m., Assignment Judge Deborah Silverman Katz announced.

The national theme for this year’s Law Day is “Cornerstones of Democracy: Civics, Civility, and Collaboration.”


Students from schools across Camden County will participate in a virtual discussion with a panel of judges and attorneys.

Superior Court Judge Gwendolyn Blue will moderate the panel discussion, which will include Appellate Division Presiding Judge Thomas W. Sumners Jr., Appellate Division Judge Morris G. Smith, Superior Court Judge Charles W. Dortch Jr., and attorney Jeralyn Lawrence, president of the New Jersey State Bar Association.

Judge Smith will give the opening and closing remarks and Judge Sumners will introduce a video featuring Chief Justice Stuart Rabner.

The program is sponsored by the vicinage in partnership with the Camden County Bar Association, with funding from the New Jersey State Bar Association.
