Camden Man Arrested & Charged With Robbing Wells Fargo Bank in Brooklawn

Gloucester City Police Department officers arrested Jones a short distance from the bank.

Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Brooklawn Police Chief Shamus Ellis are announcing the arrest of a bank robbery suspect.

Phillip Jones, 55, of Camden was apprehended on March 8, 2022.


He has been charged with first-degree Robbery.

Earlier in the day on March 8th, officers responded to the Wells Fargo Bank located on Crescent Boulevard in Brooklawn for a bank robbery.

Investigation revealed that Jones handed a bank teller a note in which he demanded money and made reference to having a gun. Jones received an amount of cash and fled from the bank.

Gloucester City Police Department officers arrested Jones a short distance from the bank.

He was in possession of approximately $3,000 in proceeds from the robbery.

Jones was processed on his Robbery charge and remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing before the Court.

All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
