Cherokee Announces Two National Merit Scholar Finalists

Cherokee is proud to announce that Erin Lin and Siddharth Parikh, who were selected as semifinalists in the fall, have now advanced to the finalist level.

As finalists, Lin and Parikh will be in the running for 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $30 million.

Each year, more than 1.5 million students across the country enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

Of these students, approximately 15,000 semifinalists are notified that they have advanced to finalist standing.

Students who are chosen as scholarship winners are the strongest combination of academic skills; honors and awards; extracurricular accomplishments and leadership skills.
