Demolition & Tree Clearing Underway For The Route 130 Bridge Over Timber Creek Project

The purpose of the Route 130 – Bridge Over Timber Creek Project is to replace the existing bridge and to improve roadway drainage at the west Brooklawn Circle.

Demolition is underway at the long-vacant building at the Brooklawn Circle – across from Verchio’s.

This building was once home to Gormley’s Baskets and Bows before they left this location and moved to 630 Mantua Pike in Woodbury, which is now a Patient First.

Trees are also being cleared along River Drive in Westville.

The purpose of the project is to replace the existing bridge over Timber Creek and to improve roadway drainage at the west Brooklawn Circle.

Once the building is knocked down, a retention pond will be put in, said Ryan Giles, who is the Brooklawn/Westville Borough Administrator.

The existing 5-span bridge over Big Timber Creek will be replaced with a 3-span continuous bridge while maintaining the existing roadway and bridge profile.

Property tax records show that the former Gormley’s Baskets & Bows building and property were sold to the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) on December 5, 2022 for $125,000.

More details and information are in our article from January, 2021.

A huge thanks to Jeff Stefan for letting me know the demo was going on today.
