Updated With Project Plan Renderings: DEP Welcomes Comments For Rt. 47 Bridge Over Big Timber Creek in Brooklawn/ Westville Project; Comments Due 6/22/2022

Exclusive to SJO:

An application for a Waterfront Development/Coastal Wetlands Individual Permit, Flood Hazard Area Individual Permit, and Freshwater Wetlands Individual Permit has been submitted to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Land Resource Protection for the Route 47 crossing over Big Timber Creek Project located in the Boroughs of Brooklawn and Westville.

The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) welcomes comments and any information that you may provide concerning the proposed development and site.

The project involves the replacement of the Route 47 bridge over Big Timber Creek and approach roadway improvements, including geometric improvements, utility relocations, and drainage system reconstruction/improvements.

The complete permit application package can be reviewed at either the municipal clerk’s office in the municipality in which the site subject to the application is located or by appointment at the Department’s Trenton Office.

Comments may be submitted by June 22, 2022 to:
