Developing Story: Brooklawn BOE Looks to Sell St. Maurice Property to Borough for $300,000

The sale would be contingent upon receipt of a letter of intent for purchase as well as a Resolution approving the purchase from the Borough of Brooklawn.

The Brooklawn Board of Education (BOE) approved a Resolution at their April 28, 2022 meeting granting approval to sell the St. Maurice property to the Borough of Brooklawn for $300,000, according to the meeting minutes.

The sale would be contingent upon receipt of a letter of intent for purchase as well as a Resolution of approval of purchase from the Borough of Brooklawn, the minutes read.


The Resolution was approved 7-0.

Over the past several years, the BOE has been trying to sell the church property, to no avail.

According to property records, the Brooklawn School District bought the property on July 10, 2014 for $720,000 from Bellmawr’s St. Joachim Parish.

In June, 2020 and in April, 2021, there were unsuccessful attempts to sell the property at a public sale.

In January, 2022 the BOE sought proposals for commercial real estate services regarding the St. Maurice Property
