Four Teenagers Face Charges in Connection With Carjacking at Gloucester City Wawa

On November 18, 2022 at 10:15 a.m, officers from the Gloucester City Police Department responded to the Wawa store located at 1317 Market Street in Gloucester City, for a report of an armed subject.

On January 10, 2023, the Gloucester City Police Department announced that charges have been filed against four teenagers ranging in age from 13-17 in connection with a carjacking at the Wawa in Gloucester City.

On November 18, 2022 at 10:15 a.m., officers from the Gloucester City Police Department responded to the Wawa store located at 1317 Market Street in Gloucester City, for a report of an armed subject.


Upon arrival, a female victim reported to officers that two males dressed in black clothing, approached her while she was seated in her vehicle.

The males displayed a handgun and told her to open the door.

The males attempted to open the car doors, but the doors were locked. The victim sounded the horn and pulled out of the parking spot.

The males fled toward Route 130 in a Dodge Journey that was reported stolen in Camden City prior to the carjacking.

Following further investigation by detectives of the Gloucester City Police Department, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes and Juvenile Units, and the Philadelphia Police Department 26th District, four juveniles were charged in the matter with the following offenses on January 6, 2023:

  • Juvenile #1: 15 years old of Camden City- Carjacking (1st Degree) and Receiving Stolen Property (3rd Degree)
  • Juvenile #2: 14 years old of Camden City – Carjacking (st Degree) and Receiving Stolen Property (3rd Degree)
  • Juvenile #3: 17 years old of Camden City Receiving Stolen Property (3rd Degree)
  • Juvenile #4: 13 years old of Camden Ciy- Receiving Stolen Property (3rd Degree)

All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
