Franklin Twp. Woman Sentenced to 7 Years in State Prison For Choking Newborn Daughter

Jade Fanz, 21, of Franklin Twp. has received a seven-year N.J. State prison term following a guilty plea of committing reckless manslaughter related to the choking death of her infant daughter.

Gloucester County Prosecutor, Charles A. Fiore, recently announced that a Franklin Township woman has received a seven-year N.J. State prison term following a guilty plea of committing reckless manslaughter related to the choking death of her infant daughter.

Authorities alleged that Jade Fanz, 21, choked the newborn until she died on February 21, 2016. Fanz was charged by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office after the infant was found on the property of her family’s home in Franklinville on February 27, 2016. Fanz has been held in jail since then.

On April 11, 2018, Fanz pleaded guilty to an accusation of second-degree manslaughter. Under the terms of the plea agreement, Superior Court Judge Robert P. Becker said Fanz must serve 85 percent of her sentence before she is eligible for parole.
