Glou City PD Charge Two City Men With Narcotics Distribution Offenses

 

The Gloucester City Police Department announced the arrests of two city men on charges of narcotics distribution.


According to the statement released today, on January 3, 2017 at 5:58 p.m., the detective bureau and patrol division, along with the Camden County Sheriff’s Department Emergency Response Team (S.E.R.T.) executed simultaneous search warrants at residences in the unit block of S. Sussex Street and the 200 block of Middlesex Street, which culminated an investigation into the distribution of narcotics from both locations.

As a result, a quantity of heroin, prescription medication, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and cash were seized.

Alfredo Clas Jr., 35, a resident of the S. Sussex Street address and Mitchell Rodriguez, 36, a resident of the 300 block of Somerset Street, were arrested and charged with the following offenses:

• Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) (3 counts)
• Possession of CDS with intent to distribute (3 counts)
• Distribution within 1000 feet of a school (3 counts)
• Distribution within 500 feet of a public building (3 counts)
• Maintaining a fortified structure while distributing CDS
• Hindering apprehension
• Possession of drug paraphernalia

Both were remanded to Camden County Jail pending a bail hearing.
