Glou City PD Assists NJSP in Apprehending Stolen Vehicle Suspects

 

On November 17, at approximately 10:04 p.m., a New Jersey State Trooper was conducting a traffic stop of a stolen motor vehicle on Market Street in front of Gloucester City High School when six of the vehicle’s occupants vehicle fled on foot into the Highland Park neighborhood. A search of the neighborhood by Gloucester City Police Department officers, along with officers from neighboring jurisdictions, and K-9 units from Oaklyn and Voorhees Police Departments, resulted in the capture of five of the suspects, all of whom were turned over to State Police. The sixth suspect was not located.

November 11 at 11:12 p.m., a traffic stop on Jersey Avenue at 6th Street resulted in the arrests of the following individuals: Craig A. Arnold, 20, a resident of Bellmawr and Joseph K. McCauley, 20, a resident of Woodbury Heights were both charged with possession of marijuana.

November 12 at 8:25 p.m., a traffic stop on N. Broadway at King Street resulted in the arrest of the following individual: Shantee D. Horace, 44, a resident of Camden, was charged with D.W.I. after breath testing determined she had a blood alcohol concentration of .17%. She was additionally charged with possession of marijuana.

November 12 at 11:43 p.m., an officer on patrol approached a female acting in a suspicious manner on Klemm Avenue at Johnson Boulevard. Further investigation resulted in her arrest. Taylor K. Nestor,19, a resident of Brooklawn, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

November 13 at 4:00 a.m., an officer responded to the Budget Inn on Route 130 for a report of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival, the victim reported he had picked up a prostitute on Broadway at Morgan Boulevard in Camden and brought her to the hotel. He allowed the prostitute to borrow his truck at approximately 2:00 a.m., However, she never returned. His vehicle was later located in Camden the following day.

November 13 at 8:37 a.m., a resident of Yale Avenue reported both of his vehicles were scratched while parked in his driveway and on the street, which caused damage. The investigation is ongoing.

November 13 at 10: 58 a.m., officers responded to the Crescent Trailer Park on Route 130 for a report of two trailers on fire. Upon arrival, two trailers were observed engulfed in flames and officers evacuated the surrounding trailers while Gloucester City Fire Department personnel extinguished the blaze. One resident was transported to an area hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.

November 14 at 12:54 p.m., a resident of the 800 block of Powell Street reported sometime overnight, unknown person(s) dented his mailbox in front of his residence.

November 15 at 10:02 a.m., Hector M. Marrero, 40, a resident of Camden, was arrested on Broadway at Hunter Street after he was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was later remanded to Camden County Jail after failing to post bail.

November 15 at 3:25 p.m., Sean W. Houser 20, a Gloucester City resident from the 200 block of Warren Street, was arrested on Essex Street at Collings Avenue after he was found to have an outstanding warrant. He was later released on bail.

November 16 at 10:00 a.m., Thomas A. Mason, 50, a resident of Camden, was arrested on Broadway at Mercer Street after he was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was later released on bail.

November 16 at 1:30 p.m., Arthur W. Adams, 37, a Gloucester City resident from the 300 block of Ridgeway Street, was arrested on N. Broadway at King Street and charged with possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) and possession of CDS with intent to distribute. He was found to be in possession of 146 bags of crack cocaine and two bags of marijuana. He was later remanded to Camden County Jail after failing to post bail.

November 17 at 1:39 p.m., an officer responded to CVS on S. Broadway for a reported shoplifting. A review of the surveillance video revealed a thin, white female left the store with items she did not pay for and fled from the area in a white SUV bearing possible Florida or Louisiana license plates. The investigation is ongoing.

November 17 at 8:06 p.m., Dale A. Sabo, 41, a Gloucester City resident from the unit block of S. Johnson Boulevard was arrested on Broadway at Bergen Street because of an outstanding warrant for his arrest. He was later released on bail.

November 17 at 8:33 p.m., Carlton T. Dobbins, 30, a resident of West Deptford, was arrested on Market Street at St. Mary Street because of an outstanding warrant for his arrest and driving on a suspended license. He was later released on bail.

In addition, officers conducted 48 traffic stops and 252 property/business checks. Officers made 15 arrests, investigated nine motor vehicle crashes, 11 domestic disputes and impounded two abandoned vehicles. Officers issued 33 criminal charges and 20 traffic citations between November 11-18.
