Gloucester City Police Arrest & Charge 26-Year-Old Man in Connection With Vehicle Burglaries

The charges filed against Edward Weatherly include theft, burglary, receiving stolen property, theft of credit cards, possession of burglar tools, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On December 22, 2022, the Gloucester City Police Department announced that Edward J. Weatherly has been arrested and charged in connection with recent vehicle burglaries.


During the month of December, there have been numerous vehicle burglaries in Gloucester City.

The Gloucester City Police Detective Bureau has been actively investigating the vehicle burglaries and developed a suspect. In addition, officers were assigned to proactive patrols to prevent and/or detect car burglaries.

As a result of the investigation and proactive patrols, Edward J. Weatherly, 26, of Gloucester City was arrested and charged with theft, burglary, receiving stolen property, theft of credit cards, possession of burglar tools, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

During a search of Weatherly incident to his arrest, proceeds from another vehicle burglary were located. All of the stolen items were returned to the victims.

Additional charges were filed against Weatherly and he was charged with
receiving stolen property and criminal mischief.

Weatherly was processed on the charges and remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a detention hearing in Superior Court.
