Beginning Monday, May 8, 2023, Nicholson Road westbound is scheduled to be closed and detoured daily over the next several months between Oxford Avenue and University Avenue in Gloucester City.

From 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday, May 8, and continuing daily Monday through Friday at the same times over the next several months, Nicholson Road westbound is scheduled to be closed and detoured underneath I-76.

The closure is necessary for utility relocation.

  • Turn right onto Market Street/CR 634 westbound

The $1.9 million federally funded project will relocate utilities near the I-76 Bridge over Nicholson Road in Gloucester City, Camden County.

I-76/I-676 Bridges and Pavement Project

This utility relocation work is in preparation for the larger I-76/I-676 Bridges and Pavement project that is still in design, which will replace the bridge deck and superstructure of the I-76 Bridge over Nicholson Road, as well as rehabilitate and pave the I-76/I-676 northbound and the I-676 southbound bridges over the Main Branch of Newton Creek.
