Investigation Continues in Tuesday’s Fatal Shooting of Man in Camden City

On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at approximately 11:54 p.m., officers of the Camden County Police Department were in the area of 28th Street and Federal Street and reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area.

An investigation is continuing for the fatal shooting of man in Camden City on Tuesday night, reported Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez on November 10, 2022.

On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at approximately 11:54 p.m., officers of the Camden County Police Department were in the area of 28th Street and Federal Street and reported hearing multiple gunshots in the area.

Officers arrived on scene at the 2400 block of Sherman Avenue and located a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim was later identified as 48-year-old Michael A. Jones. Jones was transported to Cooper University Hospital and on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, he was pronounced deceased.
