Jewish Family Service Staff Returns to Atlantic City Office Location

As JFS continued with essential services and reopened the Margate office in September, the agency is preparing to reopen its Atlantic City location for in-person appointments beginning Nov. 2.

Margate, NJ (October 27, 2020) – During the past seven months, the pandemic forced many companies to drastically reduce or alter their way of business.

However, as a non-profit agency in demand to provide food and basic essentials, supportive housing, counseling and more, Jewish Family Service of Atlantic & Cape May Counties (JFS) quickly pivoted to assure staff were able to provide residents and the community with services while adhering to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines.

As JFS continued with essential services and reopened the Margate office in September, the agency is preparing to reopen its Atlantic City location for in-person appointments beginning Monday, November 2.

Staff at the Atlantic City office, located at 26 South Pennsylvania Avenue, will offer case management, counseling and other services. To assure the safety of staff members and clients, JFS diligently worked to sanitize the area with deep cleaning and fogging.

In addition, hand sanitizing stations and disinfectant are strategically placed throughout the office as well as plexi-glass dividers, and directional decals and signage to assure social distancing is adhered to by everyone.

Also, masks have been provided to staff along with face-to-face guidelines for interaction in the office and field.

By opening the Atlantic City office, JFS assures convenient accessibility for clients who had limited or no transportation options.

JFS staff will continue to be available for counseling, therapy, supportive housing services and more to those in need. At no time since the pandemic began did JFS’ commitment change to help residents of our community. Many of our social workers, counselors and therapists continued to operate in the field as well as through telehealth services.

In addition, JFS made certain that the Food Pantry, located at the Margate office, was stocked with non-perishable food and basic essentials.

The JFS Food Pantry is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm.

At JFS, safety is of the utmost importance for staff, consumers, clients, volunteers and community members.
