Jewish Family Service Welcomes Staff Back to Offices

Employees worked remotely for nearly six months.

Margate, NJ (September 08, 2020) – Like all businesses, the health and safety of the staff at Jewish Family Service of Atlantic & Cape May Counties (JFS) is paramount. While the pandemic reduced the hours or shuttered many companies, business steadfastly continued for JFS staff who worked remotely to provide essential services to residents and the community while adhering to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines.

Now, after nearly six months, JFS staff were welcomed back to offices in the region. To assure the safety of all staff members, JFS diligently worked to sanitize office areas by deep cleaning and fogging offices, cubicles, vehicles and more.

In addition, stationary hand sanitizing machines are strategically placed in each building along with directional and informational decals and signage to assure social distancing is adhered to by employees and visitors. Also, appropriate masks have been provided along with face-to-face guidelines for interaction in the office and field.

At no time since the pandemic began did our commitment change to help residents of our community. Since mid-March, JFS has seen an 80% increase in need for the Food Pantry, 67% increase in Kosher Meals on Wheels delivery and the agency overall has assisted more than 1,310 residents in our community with services, programs and goods. At JFS, we understand that the need for non-perishable food and basic essentials is still growing. As such, our expanded Margate Food Pantry continues to be accessible to the public Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm.

In addition, the Margate office, located at 607 North Jerome Avenue, is open Monday through Thursday from 8am to 8pm, and Friday from 8am to 5pm for assistance with Supportive Housing, Counseling, Shop at Home and more.

At JFS, safety is of the utmost importance for staff, consumers, volunteers and community members. For more information on JFS services and programs, contact 609.822.1108, x1 or visit jfsatlantic.org.
