Jury Convicts Timothy Wright Following Trial

On November 2, 2022, a jury in Atlantic County convicted Timothy Wright, 42, on a sole-count Indictment for first-degree murder.


Wright was charged with strangulating and killing 25-year-old Joyce Vanderhoff on February 13, 2014.

Vanderhoff’s naked body was found on the side of Weymouth Road in Hamilton Township the following morning.

Wright was arrested in 2019 in Pennsylvania and extradited to New Jersey to stand trial.

The two-and-a-half-week-long trial began on October 17, 2022.

Sentencing Date

Sentencing is scheduled for December 16, 2022.

Wright faces a minimum of 30 years in New Jersey State Prison, where he must serve all 30 years without parole
