Kenneth Parrish, 58, of Atlantic City, Receives 10-Year-Prison Term For Assault & Robbery

Police were called to the boardwalk for a report of a woman being attacked while Parrish took her wallet and phone.

On March 2, 2023, the Honorable Bernard E. DeLury, Jr., P.J.Cr. sentenced Kenneth T. Parrish, 58, of Atlantic City, to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison for the October 8, 2021 aggravated assault and robbery of a 49-year-old female victim, J.L., on the Atlantic City boardwalk.

Police were called to the boardwalk for a report of a woman being attacked while Parrish took her wallet and phone. Due to multiple punches by Parrish to the victim’s head and face, J.L. was subsequently permanently blinded and lost the use and function in her left eye.


As Parrish assaulted the victim, a good Samaritan intervened and came to the victim’s defense and subdued and detained Parrish until the police arrived.

On January 12, 2023, Defendant pleaded guilty to the following charges:

  • Count 1 –Robbery by Force –2nd degree
  • Count 2 –Aggravated Assault with Serious Bodily Injury–2nd degree

This case was investigated by the Atlantic City Police Department.

Assistant Atlantic County Prosecutor Tiffany deGrandmaison prosecuted the case for the State.

Parrish will be required to serve 85% of the 10-year sentence before he will be eligible for parole
