The Mt. Ephraim Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that took place on Saturday, March 18.

According to the Mt. Ephraim Police Department’s Facebook page, police were dispatched to the Willow Glen Apartment complex at 279 S. Black Horse Pike at approximately 6:00 p.m. for a report of a shooting.

Officers quickly responded to the scene and were met with altering witness statements. MEPD and assisting officers from Gloucester City, Brooklawn, Bellmawr, and Audubon immediately set up a perimeter and began searching the area for involved parties as it was reported that one of the subjects involved fled on foot toward James Street.

It was soon confirmed that the subject observed fleeing on foot was the target of the shooting and not the suspected shooter.

MEPD Detectives were able to confirm that the suspect(s) responsible for the shooting, fled the area in a silver four door sedan (possibly a late model Kia Forte) seconds after the shooting occurred.

“Details of the investigation to this point have led us to determine that this was an isolated incident, between subjects known to each other and not a random act. We are thankful to report that no one was injured in this incident, however this is an ongoing investigation at this time,” the post states.

If anyone has any information in reference to this incident please contact the Mount Ephraim Police Department, Sgt. Bill Errigo at, or by phone (856)931-2225.
