Ocean Vicinage to Graduate 47 Drug Court Participants

The graduates have met all the requirements of the program and have successfully completed the terms of their probation supervision.

The Ocean Vicinage will celebrate the successes of 47 drug court participants at two graduation celebrations, on Wednesday, Nov 18 and Friday, Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. via Zoom.

Superior Court Judge Steven F. Nemeth will preside over the events.

The graduates have met all the requirements of the program and have successfully completed the terms of their probation supervision.

The Judiciary’s drug court program operates within the Superior Court to address non-violent offenders with substance abuse issues.

The program requires completion of four phases of intensive drug and alcohol treatment and probation supervision.

This level of supervision permits the program to support the recovery process but also allows the drug court team to react quickly to impose appropriate therapeutic sanctions or to reinstate criminal proceedings when participants do not comply.

The vicinage’s drug court program serves approximately 373 participants.

The program has graduated 617 participants since its inception in 2002.

The ceremonies can be viewed live on the vicinage’s channel at https://njcourts.gov/public/channels.html.
