The Mt. Ephraim Police Dept. has announced that the owner/operator of a local convenience store has been arrested and charged with the sale of nicotine products to juveniles/under age parties.

The Mt. Ephraim Police Department announced that the owner/operator of a local convenience store has been arrested and charged with the sale of nicotine products to juveniles/under age parties.

A Facebook post dated January 25, 2019 stated: “After a thorough investigation prompted by numerous complaints made by parents, residents, business owners and concerned citizens, the Mount Ephraim Police Department has established probable cause and signed complaints against Mohammed Nasair Alam, the owner/operator of the Mount Ephraim Convenience Store Mr. Alam was arrested on 1/25/2019 and served charges for multiple counts of violation of NJSA 2A:170-51.4 “Sale or Distribution of Tobacco or Electronic Smoking Device Products to Persons Under 21 Years of Age.”


Alam was released on summonses pending an upcoming Municipal Court date. the post stated.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven otherwise in a court of law.
