Paulsboro Woman Fatally Stabbed in Home

At 5:50 a.m. today, officers from the Paulsboro Police Department responded to a 911 call for the report of an unconscious female at a residence on Capital Street. Upon arrival, officers found the body of Alesia Burns, 56, who lived at the residence.

The deceased woman was transported to Inspira Hospital, Woodbury, where the Gloucester County Medical Examiner performed an autopsy.

The cause of death was found to be multiple stab wounds and the manner of death was homicide.

At the time of the 911 call, the Capital Street residence was also occupied by one other adult and three juveniles. There were no other injuries.
