Photos: Camden County Freeholders Meeting in Brooklawn Feb. 16

The Camden County Board of Freeholders recognized several members of the Brooklawn community with Proclamations and Awards at its monthly meeting that was held on February 16,

The Camden County Freeholders Board held their monthly meeting in Brooklawn on February 16.

Several members of the community were honored with Awards and Proclamations:


•Kimberly Meehan was honored with the Community Award by Freeholder Susan Shun Angulo

•Angel Rodriguez was presented with the Young Community Leader Award by Freeholder, Bill Moen.

•Brown’s Super Store received a Sustainability Award by Freeholder Bill Moen.

•Brooklawn’s Brooke Mulford was honored with a Proclamation by Freeholder Director, Lou Capelli, for her brave battle against Neuroblastoma. February 16 was also declared “Brooke Mulford Day.”

• Jodina Hicks of Urban Promise was presented with a Proclamation.

Brooklawn’s Girl Scout Troop 30721 opened the meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance. The troop also received a donation from the Freeholder Board.

The troop was acknowledged for their many recent community contributions, including using their cookie sale proceeds for various community outreach projects, such as assembling snack bags for chemotherapy patients, making 250 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the homeless in Camden City, and collecting toys, hats and gloves to be distributed at Christmas time.

Additionally, Freeholder Carmen Rodriguez presented Brooklawn Mayor Teri Branella with a Community Block Development Grant (CDBG) check in the amount of $21,000, which will be used for improving the Borough’s sidewalks.
