New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials have announced the right lane on I-295 northbound will be closed for three days during the day to continue work on the retaining wall investigation in Bellmawr.
From 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Tuesday, May 18, Wednesday, May 19, and Thursday, May 20, the right lane on I-295 northbound will be closed beginning just past the Creek Road overpass before Exit 26 where the highway splits for I-76 toward Philadelphia/I-295 toward Trenton and will continue through the tunnel.
The closure is necessary to provide safe access to the site for trucks to install temporary drainage and to bring in material for erosion mitigation.
Future lane closures may be necessary as the investigation continues.
Motorists should expect congestion on I-295 northbound and Route 42 northbound.
