Sentencing Date Set For Camden Woman Who Was Charged With Shoplifting, Aggravated Assault & Throwing Bodily Fluid

Alycia Roman, of Camden, will be sentenced on Sept. 4, 2020. In April, police responded to the Brooklawn ShopRite for a report of a woman who had shoplifted items.

On August 7, 2020, Alycia Roman, of Camden, pled guilty to one count of fourth-degree Aggravated Assault, confirmed Camden County Prosecutor’s spokesperson, Colby Gallagher on August 18, 2020.

In April, 2020, Roman was initially charged with:

  • One count of second-degree Robbery
  • One count of third-degree Aggravated Assault
  • One count of Shoplifting
  • One count of Unlawful Act During the Threat or Imminence of Danger

Police responded to the Brooklawn ShopRite on April 12 for a report of a woman shoplifting items after an employee bagged them. During the investigation, employees told police Roman spat on one employee who followed her to her vehicle to get the bag back.

Witnesses said Roman then reversed her car into another employee and attempted to run him over, but he was able to jump out of the way.

On April 14, 2020, Roman was located, arrested, and received an additional charge of one count of fourth-degree Throwing Bodily Fluid at a Law Enforcement Officer.

While being booked in jail, correctional officers said Roman threw a cup of urine on one of them.

Roman’s sentencing has been scheduled for September 4, 2020.
