Haddonfield, NJ – Our Lady of Mercy Academy (OLMA), a private Catholic all-girls high school, recently received a $5,000 grant from the Community Foundation of South Jersey’s (CFSJ) COVID-19 Response Fund.
One-hundred percent of the critical funds were appropriated to students and families with need.

With major fundraising events having to be canceled, one-hundred percent of the grant was used to provide additional financial aid for families in need.
“Having personally experienced the impact of a Covid-related job loss, this grant helped to alleviate some of the pressure we are feeling,” one OLMA parent said. “With my daughter in her senior year, and with my job eliminated back in May, we had to take a hard look at the financial realities facing our family. We were determined to find a way to keep her at OLMA for her final year, but not completely certain where the money would come from to make that happen in this difficult economy. Every scholarship or alternate source of funding is important, and this particular grant certainly helped us in that respect. We are grateful to the Community Foundation of South Jersey and OLMA for their help.”
“Thanks to the Community Foundation of South Jersey, several OLMA families received some much-needed assistance to bridge the gap created by this year’s unprecedented challenges,” said Brooke A. Coyle, Head of School. “We encourage our students to find a way to be the light for someone else every day. We were able to do just that and more for these families, and we could not be more grateful for the Community Foundation of South Jersey’s compassion and support.”
