Left lane closures on Route 130 are scheduled to begin tomorrow as the Route 130 Bridge over Big Timber Creek project begins in Camden and Gloucester counties.
From 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, May 6, the left lane on Route 130 northbound and southbound will be closed between the Brooklawn Circle and River Drive in Westville.

Work is expected to begin on Route 130 southbound and will move to the northbound side of the roadway as work progresses.
The closures are necessary to place construction barrier and create a work zone.
By 4 p.m. Saturday, May 6, the left lane on Route 130 northbound and southbound will be closed, and the roadway will be reduced to one lane in each direction.

This traffic pattern is expected to be in place for approximately two months. The lane closures will allow for the removal of the median barrier and concrete islands.
Last month, demolition was completed on the long-closed vacant building that was there. A retention pond will be put in there.
Slow Down & Expect Delays
Motorists are advised to slow down, use caution and expect delays or plan an alternate route.
The project is being done in 10 stages. Work in the first stage will include removing the existing median barrier and the concrete islands near the Brooklawn Circle, constructing temporary roadways on both sides of the Bridge over Big Timber Creek, and drainage upgrades near River Drive in Westville.
This stage is expected to be complete by summer 2023.

The $54 million federally funded project will remove and replace the Route 130 Bridge over Big Timber Creek in Brooklawn, Camden County and Westville, Gloucester County. The project is expected to be complete by spring 2028.

Leaf Avenue Ramp to Route 42 SB Detour:
Motorists wishing to get on Route 42 southbound from Leaf Avenue will be directed to continue on Creek Road eastbound
Turn right onto Edgewood Avenue
Turn right onto Leaf Avenue (This portion is incorrect. Edgewood now runs directly into Benigno where you will find the Route 42 Northbound ramp. Though not clearly marked, it is at the new light.)
