Camden County has completed its first draft of the FY 2022 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Annual Action Plan which is funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and includes, federal HOME Investment Partnership (HOME) funds, Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) funds.

Estimated funding amounts for FY 2022 are as follows:

Once official HUD 2022 allocations are announced, if the County needs to make adjustments to their budget in order to match the official allocation, they will do so proportionately across the entire budget.

The purpose of the County’s Annual Action Plan is to improve the housing and living conditions of its residents, especially the extremely low, low- and moderate-income households; the homeless, and persons with special needs; upgrade and improve the public and community facilities in the County; improve and expand the public services for residents of the County; and promote economic development opportunities for all residents.

Prior to the submission of the Annual Action Plan, the County is holding two virtual Public Hearings on May 5, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Camden County wishes to review the draft plan in order to obtain comments and views of citizens, public agencies, and other interested parties for the planning process for allocation of federal Community Block Grant funds in the County.

The information received from interested persons at the hearing will assist the County in the preparation of the final 2022 Annual Plan.

All interested individuals and organizations are encouraged to attend this hearing and offer their views and comments on the housing and community development needs of the County.

In lieu of in-person attendance, the public may attend and join this meeting via teleconference call or Zoom webinar.

The log-in information will be posted on the County’s website prior to the meeting.

The County intends to submit their Annual Action Plan on or before July 1, 2022 to the HUD Newark Office.
