Voorhees Business Association Marks 30th Anniversary with Celebration Dec. 18th at Il Villaggio

Event will honor Police Chief Louis Bordi with First Community Impact Award.

The Voorhees Business Association will mark its milestone 30th anniversary Dec. 18, 2019, with a celebration that will also recognize Voorhees Police Chief Louis Bordi with the inaugural Community Impact Award. The event, which is open to the public, will be held at Il Villaggio in Cherry Hill from 6:30-10 p.m.

Tickets for the 30th Anniversary Celebration are $50 and may be purchased at www.voorheesbusinessassociation.org/events. Ticket includes hors d’oeuvres, sit-down dinner, and beer, wine and soft drinks. Advanced purchase is recommended as space is limited. Advertising/congratulations messages for the event program are also available.

“The VBA has been a proud part of this community since 1989, and giving back has been part of our mission since the very beginning, whether it’s contributing to the Voorhees Police Christmas Fund,  sponsoring the popular pumpkin patch at the annual Halloween Festival, or delivering toys and much-needed supplies to the Voorhees Pediatric Facility during the holidays,” said VBA President Lisa Goldwasser. “This celebration also gives us the opportunity to engage the broader community and honor one of its vital members, Chief Lou Bordi.”

Bordi became Chief of Police in 2012, culminating 28 years’ experience in law enforcement. A native of Voorhees, he has served the department as a patrol officer, canine handler, canine trainer, and a sergeant and lieutenant in the Patrol Bureau.

In his various roles, he has been on the forefront of such initiatives as school safety and security, community policing partnerships, police officer training, and organizational accountability. Under his leadership, the Voorhees Police Department continues to make significant progress in driving down crime rates and supplying innovative police services to match the 21st century demands of policing.

Il Villaggio is located at 211 Haddonfield-Berlin Road in Cherry Hill. The 30th Anniversary Celebration begins at 6:30 p.m.

Cocktail attire is recommended.

Why would the Voorhees Business Association choose to hold an event at a restaurant located in Cherry Hill? Are there no suitable venues in Voorhees? Isn’t the mission of the association to support VOORHEES businesses?
