On Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at approximately 9:40 p.m., Washington Township Police Officers were dispatched to the area of County Highway 555 (Tuckahoe Road) and Summit Avenue for a report of a semi-conscious female lying on the side of the roadway.
It was later determined that the female had been struck by a motor vehicle, which had left the scene and later reported the crash.

The preliminary investigation reveals that a 2014 Hyundai Sonata was traveling westbound on Tuckahoe Road, near its intersection with Summit Avenue, when it made contact with a pedestrian in the roadway.
The pedestrian sustained a serious injury and was transported to Jefferson Hospital.
The westbound travel lane on Tuckahoe Road was closed for approximately an hour following the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
